Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!
I want to share with you, one of my all time
favorite Christmas songs born out of the collision
of slavery and Christianity.
Can there be a greater act of faith than believing with your whole mind, heart and soul that God has fulfilled on his promise and sent a Savior while at the same time being locked in chains? It’s almost a replay of the Old Testament, except in stead of a bearded Moses, we have Abraham Lincoln leading an entire country out of slavery and out of the wilderness.
Play the link below to listen to the Blind Boys of Alabama Sing a traditional Christmas song, “When was Jesus Born.” It combines the form of African tradition of call and response, the Christian tradition in content, and the teaching tradition of children’s songs in sneaking in an easy way to learn the 12 months of the year.
May God grant us all a joyous, peaceful, and abundant New Year. Enjoy!
