There and Back Again: A father's tale

Dropped my daughter and her two friends Katie and Anna back at St. John's this past Sunday (Anna, Katie, Gabrielle L to R). All and all not a bad use of 15 hours. Gas outside of Annapolis was $1.72 while it remains above $2.00 here in Central New York at $2.09.

St. John's is one of the few remaining great books programs. They are reading the Greek classics right now and find quite a parallel to today's world politics. Having a firm footing in history makes it less likely to become hysterical in the face of adversity. I wish more journalists would go back and read up on the warring Greek city-states.
